How does the lottery work?


A limited number of tickets for select performances will be sold via the Midland Railway Official Digital Lottery. Click the “Enter Now” button for the performance you want to attend and fill out the entry form. Make sure the name you enter matches the name on your photo ID. If you are a winner, you must present a valid, non-expired photo ID at the box office to pick up your tickets. Please note: We cannot accept photocopies of IDs. After the lottery closes, you will be notified via email within minutes as to whether you won or not. If you are selected as a winner, you have 60 minutes to pay for your tickets online. Major credit cards are accepted. IMPORTANT: If you do not pay for your tickets by the deadline listed in your confirmation they will be released and re-sold. After you pay and receive your payment confirmation, you can pick up your tickets at the Box Office no sooner than 30 minutes before show time with a valid photo ID. Seats are assigned at the discretion of the Box Office and cannot be transferred to other people or performances. If you didn’t win, you can always come back and try again for a future performance.




I don't see an "Enter Now" button. How do I enter the lottery?


The “Enter Now” button will only appear once the lottery is open and accepting entries. Until a lottery is open it will be listed as “Upcoming.” The opening date and time of an upcoming lottery is listed under “Lottery Status.” If you are not seeing the “Enter Now” button after the lottery opening time, please refresh the page or try a different browser. If this still does not work, you may want to try clearing the cache on your browser.




Is there a lottery every day?


The schedule of the lottery is different for every show. Please check the show’s lottery page for more information on when they offer a lottery. Please note that the schedule is subject to change at any time.




How many times can I enter a lottery?


You may enter a lottery for a specific show date and time only once. Multiple entries for the same show date and time will not be accepted.




Can I enter lotteries for more than one show at a time?


Yes, but you will only win one lottery for performances playing at the same time. You may win two lotteries in one day if one is a matinee and the other is an evening performance.




May I enter the lottery if I am under the age of 18?


No. As outlined in the terms and conditions, lottery entrants must be at least 18 years of age. Winners will need a valid photo ID that exactly matches the first and last name of the lottery entrant in order to pick up the tickets.




How are the winners contacted?


Winners are contacted by email. Winners have 60 minutes to purchase their tickets from the time the lottery closes.




What time can I expect to hear if I won or lost?


You will be notified via email within a few minutes of the closing time listed for the specific lottery you entered. This will vary by show and/or lottery.




How many people win the lottery?


The number of lottery winners varies by show and by performance. The number of winners for each lottery is at the sole discretion of the show.




How do you pick winners?


Winners are chosen randomly. However, if you enter multiple lotteries for a single performance time, you will only win one.




How can I get tickets if I don't win?


Visit MidlandRailway.org for ticketing information for every show this season.




If I win, where will my seats be?


Seat locations will be assigned at the discretion of the Box Office.




I chose the wrong number of tickets. Can I change the number of tickets I want?


No, once your entry has been submitted the number of tickets requested cannot be changed.




I won 2 tickets, but I only want to purchase 1. Is that possible?


No, the number of tickets requested is the number of tickets that must be purchased if you have won.




Can I give someone else my tickets?


No. Tickets cannot be transferred to other people or performances. A valid photo ID matching the name on the lottery entry is required to pick up tickets at the Box Office beginning no sooner than 30 minutes before showtime.




When can I pick up my tickets? What do I need to do?


If you win a lottery, pay, and receive your payment confirmation email, you can pick up your tickets at the Box Office no sooner than 30 minutes prior to showtime. You must present a photo ID matching the name on the lottery entry to pick up your tickets.




Can I pick up my tickets earlier than 30 minutes prior to the show?


No, tickets are only available 30 minutes prior to curtain and cannot be picked up earlier.




Can someone else pick up my tickets using my ID?


No, tickets cannot be picked up by anyone other than the person who entered the lottery. You must present a photo ID matching the name on the lottery entry to pick up your tickets.




Is the price listed on the site the cost to enter the lottery or the cost of the ticket?


The price listed is the cost of the ticket. There is no charge to enter the lottery.




I won! How do I pay?


For most shows you have 60 minutes from the time the lottery closes to pay for your tickets, although this may vary per show. The lottery closing time is listed online at the time of entry as well as in the email confirming your entry. You will be notified shortly after the lottery closes so keep an eye on your email. Should you be selected as a winner, the payment deadline will be included in your winner notification email.




I wasn’t able to pay within 1 hour. Is there any way to pay for tickets after?


Unfortunately, no. Once the payment window has closed, tickets will be released and are no longer available.




I was in the process of paying, but when I tried to submit payment I was told the payment window had closed. Can I still pay?


Unfortunately, no. Late payments cannot be accepted. Payment needs to be fully submitted within one hour of the lottery closing. After that deadline, the tickets are released.




My credit card is being declined. What should I do?


First, please make sure you are entering the correct information. If your credit card is still being declined please try using a different credit card.




I already paid for my tickets, but can't make the show. Is it possible to receive a refund or exchange the tickets for a future performance?


Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds or exchanges. All sales are final.
